2024-02-21: The Genius of Woman

For our February general meeting we heard from a Family Life Director of a local church who has a background in nursing, theology, bioethics and fertility care. The talk explores “The Genius of Woman.” The Feminine Genius is a phrase St. Pope John Paul II used to describe the great gifts each and every woman has received in her creation. It is in welcoming the "other" and intuiting the joys and challenges of life around her, that woman displays these gifts. Mary the mother of God is the model of this GENIUS. This talk used Scripture, Church teaching and experience to ponder this gift more deeply.

2023-11-15: Women’s Health and Natural Family Planning

For our November general meeting we heard from a local Ob/Gyn who is a fellowship-trained NaProTECHNOLOGY surgeon. She spoke to us on the importance of women’s health and the purpose of Natural Family Planning. Natural Family Planning is a method of monitoring and interpreting natural markers of fertility. She introduced the different methods used to track fertility and answered many questions during the Q&A session. Hope you enjoy!

2023-10-18: Marriage is Therapy

For our October general meeting we heard from a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who works for a nonprofit counseling agency that offers services in a manner that is faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. “Marriage is Therapy” is a teaching on the theology of marriage through our Catholic Faith and the psychological sciences. He taught us how spouses can (and should) be healing towards each other. He explained how in healthy Christian marriage each partner is Seen, Safe, Sane, and Soothed and what these terms mean. With this understanding we can begin to see how marriage is therapy! Hope you enjoy!

He reminded us that in all our acts, in all our works, in all our behavior, imitate the good: be a competitor of the saints, keep your eye on the heroism of the martyrs, follow the example of the just.
